Mother’s Day Is For More Women Than We Often Remember

Mother’s Day can be beautiful.

But for many women, it can also be emotional, complicated and deeply personal.

Behind the flowers, brunches and celebrations are also women carrying silent stories:

  • women longing to become mothers
  • women navigating infertility
  • women grieving miscarriages or pregnancy loss
  • mothers who have lost children
  • women grieving their own mothers
  • stepmums, foster mums and bonus mums
  • women raising siblings, nieces or nephews
  • women who nurture others every day without recognition

This Mother’s Day, we wanted to gently remind our community that motherhood exists in many forms.

And love, care and nurturing cannot always be measured by biology.

To The Women Longing To Become Mothers

If Mother’s Day feels difficult for you, you are not alone.

The longing to become a mother can carry enormous hope, grief, frustration and heartbreak — often quietly.

Your journey matters.

To Mothers Carrying Loss

To the women who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or the loss of a child:

Your babies mattered.

Your motherhood matters.

And your grief deserves space and gentleness.

To Women Missing Their Own Mothers

For many, Mother’s Day can also reopen grief.

If you are missing your mother today, we hope you allow yourself softness, memories and support.

Love does not disappear.

To Bonus Mums, Foster Mums & Caregivers

Some women step into nurturing roles without titles or recognition.

You show up. You care. You guide. You protect.

And that matters deeply.

Motherhood Is Also Found In Everyday Care

Sometimes motherhood looks like:

  • checking if someone got home safely
  • comforting a child that is not biologically yours
  • helping another mum through a difficult season
  • showing patience, warmth and emotional safety
  • carrying emotional labour for families and communities

Nurturing is powerful.

And many women give it freely every single day.

From Mumma To Every Woman In Our Community

Whether today feels joyful, painful, healing or bittersweet:

We see you.

And we hope you give yourself kindness today too.

Happy Mother’s Day to all women carrying love in their own way.
