UAE Public Holidays 2027: Long Weekends and Smart Leave for Families
Every 2027 holiday in one table with add-to-calendar links, the National Day 2026 break ahead, and the leave days that make 4 to 9 days off.
Book early, but book smart: the dates below are the UAE's predicted public holidays for 2027, and the Eid ones are only confirmed by moon sighting. The December 2026 break is the one you can plan around now. Where a date is a prediction, the table says so.
UAE public holidays 2027: the full list

National Day is Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 December 2026, for the public and private sectors. Add to calendar

The nine days are Gulf News's maths. The government can still move the holiday to the start or end of the week, so check with your employer before you pay for flights. School is the catch: winter break only starts on 14 December. Our school holidays guide has the term dates.
Eid Al Fitr: the biggest break of the year
Ramadan 2027 is projected to start on Monday 8 February. If it runs 30 days, Tuesday 9 March is a holiday too, and with Eid on Wednesday to Friday plus the weekend you are off from 9 to 14 March, back at work on Monday 15 March.

Schools are in term in March, so ask early whether yours closes.
Eid Al Adha: four days for free
Arafah Day and the first day of Eid land on the weekend, so only Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 May add days: Saturday 15 to Tuesday 18 May, four days with no leave. Take Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 May and it becomes nine days, to Sunday 23 May.
New Year, Hijri New Year and the Prophet's birthday
Friday 1 January is a three-day weekend, and it sits inside the school winter break. The Hijri New Year (6 June) and the Prophet's birthday (14 August) fall on weekend days. The cabinet rule says a weekend holiday cannot be moved, yet Time Out expects both to shift to a Monday, a free three-day weekend each. Wait for the announcement before booking.
National Day 2027: four days, nine with three leave days
Thursday 2 and Friday 3 December 2027 give four days with no leave. Take Wednesday 1 December for five, or Monday 29 November to Wednesday 1 December for nine, Saturday 27 November to Sunday 5 December.

These are the Ministry of Education dates. Private schools may move October or February breaks by up to five days, and Sharjah has its own rules. The cheapest long trips are the school-free ones: winter break, spring break and the summer. Eid and National Day need a day or two of school absence, so ask before you book.
